Massapequa Summer Recreation Options 2016

It is June, which means school is almost out!  Have you planned your summer yet?  Here are some options for summer recreation, summer camp and more for the kids!

Town of Oyster Bay Summer Recreation Program: Activities for children offered at TOB facilities during July and August. Call (516) 797-4125, option 1, for more information.

IMG_1943Registration: registration via mail, call (516) 797-4125, option 1.   Completed applications need to be returned with proof of Town residency (tax bill, utility bill, etc.), copy of child(ren)’s birth certificate, check or money order (no cash). Children must already be four-years-old at the time of entrance into the program
Runs: July 5-August 12, 2016

Only $275 per child, $100 for each additional child in the same family
Ages: 4-12
Schedule:  9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. to 3 p.m.
No supervision is provided between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Children must be picked up.

Registration:: Registration begins May 18th
Online Registration & Payment Options for Recreation & Sport Camps available May 18th – June 24th. C
Walk-in registration daily in the Athletics & Recreation Office 8:30AM – 3PM, Massapequa High School, 4925 Merrick Road (North End of Lakeside Parking Lot)
Monday, June 27th 1PM – 3PM Summer Recreation Registration held at each Elementary School & Ames Campus. Once Summer Recreation is in session registration must be done at each school site. Summer Recreation does not shut out.
After June 24th Sport Camp’s Registration must be done in the Recreation Office.

Runs: July 5 – August 5

  • Elementary Program for Grades K-6  9AM – 3PM. Each Massapequa elementary school offers a program for children entering grades K-6 in September. Activities include outdoor games daily, group parties, music, movies, sports, arts & crafts, talent show, arts & crafts exhibit and weekly trips.
  • Teen Center Summer Program for Grades 7-9  8:30AM – 2:30PM. The Teen Center Program program is held at the Ames Campus. Activities include game room, sports, indoor & outdoor activities, arts & crafts center, weekly trips.


Elementary Grades K – 6
PER WEEK One Child $100,Family(2) $175, Family(3+) $260
*FULL 5 WEEKS One Child $400, Family (2) $625, Family (3+) $765

Teen Center Grades 7 – 9
$80 per week per student *$320 Full 5-weeks per student
*Discount applies ONLY to five-week Registration.

Payment must be received by Monday, June 27th. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Nassau County’s Summer Recreation Program Ages: 5 – 12

Runs: June 27 – August 4, 2016
Program Day: 9 am – 3 pm or (Full-day option 8:30 am – 5:30 pm)

Registration Deadline MAY 27, 2016: Registration fee of $25 applies to returning campers (from 2015) who register by March 18, 2016.
Registration fee of $50 applies for new campers (regardless of registration date) and returning campers who apply after March 19, 2016. Registration fees are NOT refundable.
Fees: 9 am – 3 pm • $700 for one child, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm • $900 for one child Tuition fee checks can be payable to Treasure of Nassau.
Additional sibling discount: $50 off for a second child, $100 off for third child, $150 off for fourth child.

Town of Oyster Bay’s GAP Program

The Town of Oyster Bay Group Activities Program, GAP, is a social and therapeutic recreation program that was developed to meet the needs of residents who are mentally challenged, developmentally disabled, or learning disabled.
Summer programs include:
Evening programs (age 16+)
Day programs ages 5 (Kindergarten
eligible in September) through 21, Monday
through Friday for approximately 6 weeks –
10 A.M. to 3 P.M.
