8. Lake George, Family Vacation #travelblogger

As we’re counting down our top ten favorite family vacations, I had to make sure I included Lake George.  I remember traveling with my family as a kid to Lake George, and we took our kids there as well.  While we have not yet stayed for an extended period of time, we did make it a full day in Lake George on the way back from Vermont.  One of my favorite Mommy memories is the lunch cruise we took on beautiful Lake George that we ALL enjoyed!

Wikipedia tells us: Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes, is a long, narrow oligotrophic lake located at the southeast base of the Adirondack Mountains, in the northeastern portion of New York.

Like Smuggler’s Notch, Lake George offers something for everyone all year round.  LakeGeorge.com tells us all about their year round offerings:

Summer offers great events, fireworks, water fun and abundant amusement parks and attractions! Winter turns the area into a snowy white wonderland with great skiing, snowmobiling and the popular Lake George Winter Carnival festivities! The offseason in Lake George is full of fun too. Fall in Lake George brings excellent conditions for hiking, leaf peeping, hay rides, hot air ballooning, horseback riding and more! Spring is the ideal time for whitewater rafting and lacing up those hiking boots, not to mention great events like the LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival!

So much to do, so much to see, Lake George is a must visit for your family vacation!
