Did I really agree to this? #Massapequa #MustangPride #FlagFootball

NOTE: Tomorrow is the last day to register with an early bird discount for the Massapequa Mustangs and must be done online at this point.  See below for more details about online and in-person registration for both football and cheer-leading, going on through June.

Since my twin boys were born almost six years ago, I always told my husband that my sons would NOT be playing football. He always laughed at me and would say “We’ll see!” So I guess Paul was right, because I all that I have been hearing for the last year from my son Louis “Mom! When are you going to sign me up for football?”, and it looks like I am giving in.

All of my children are very much into playing sports. My daughter brings her basketball to school every day to play during recess. She throws around a baseball with her brothers every day after school. The boys are always leaving the house with their mitts with them, and at any given point of time (yes, unfortunately I even catch them in the house) you can see at least one of my kids throwing some sort of ball in the air. They all play baseball (my daughter has been playing softball for the last eight years) and are all enjoying it. I had never wanted my boys to play football because of the possible injuries, but let’s face it: kids can get hurt in any sport, and if my kids want to play football, I am at least going to give them a shot.

So, Louis has been talking football for well over a year. Anthony’s favorite sport is baseball and Joseph’s favorite sport is basketball. But of course, all three want to play football. They are all very excited.

Yes, I gave in.  All three of my boys will be Mustangs this fall, playing flag football with Massapequa Pride!  After all, my dad has always said that I have the defensive line right in our home!  Good luck Louis, Anthony and Joseph!  Pray for Mommy!!!
