BIG is 25! And now I feel really OLD!

Did you know that the movie BIG turned 25 years old last month?  I was 13 years old when BIG came out.  Saw it at the movies with friends (if I recall correctly it was the first movie I saw without parents!) and was in total awe that parts of it were filmed at Rye Playland.  Loved the movie!  I just cannot believe it has been 25 years since we first saw Tom Hanks play the big piano at FAO.  I have got to get a copy of the new release to introduce BIG to my kids.

Big 25th Anniversary  is available on Blu-ray/DVD combo courtesy of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

My friends over at Thinkjam for Fox sent me this list of ways you can find your inner child and I thought I’d share, because I know many of my readers are around the same age as me and would LOVE to feel “BIG” again!  Just a warning for the moms… your hubbies might like this list better than you do!!  LOL!

Two-time Oscar® Winner Tom Hanks* received his first Best Actor Nomination for his disarming turn as a 12-year-old man-child in Penny Marshall’s timeless, “hilarious” (Newsweek) delight. Tired of being a kid, Josh Baskin wishes he was big. When he wakes up the next day, he’s an adult! Now, Josh must hold down a job – and please a new boss (Robert Loggia).

Tougher still, he must convince his best friend that he’s still himself, and explain to a beautiful woman (Elizabeth Perkins) who falls for him, that he’s not. To help you prepare for the 25th anniversary edition of Big, we have created a list of must have bachelor pad toys, to help you get in touch with your inner child!

1. X-Box or Playstation.
No one is going to blame you if you want to hang out all day on the couch and have a FIFA tournament, skateboard with Tony Hawk or have a Mario Kart race day. Do what you want, you’re a kidault!
2. Indoor basketball Hoop
This is your house; no one can tell you not to bounce the ball inside! Nothing says fun like a casual game of “horse” with the guys!
3. Pool Table
A pool table says, “I’m fun, but I’m also mature.” This is the perfect big boy game for you and your buddies to have a beer and bond over. Guy’s nights just got way cooler.
4. Foosball Table
Joey and Chandler from “Friends” prove that a foosball table is a necessary toy to have in a bachelor pad. They get more use out of that thing that their refrigerator.
5. Beanbags
While these aren’t necessarily “toys” beanbags are essential for any bachelor pad. Where else are you supposed to sit while having an X-Box tournament or movie day?
6. Karaoke
Karaoke is perfect for entertaining! Hook up the microphone and pick a song. Maybe even a duet with that special someone!
