Our first Halloween in Massapequa Park

We have been spending the last few weeks enjoying the season in Massapequa Park.  This is our first Halloween in Massapequa and there are so many things to do!  I still cannot believe that Halloween is only three days away.  We are all ready for Halloween.  Our house has been decorated for a while now, we had a lot of fun putting out our pumpkins and witches and monsters and more.  The kids’ school had a harvest fair and I finally got my bale of hay that I have always wanted!

Earlier this month we enjoyed the Town of Babylon’s Fall Festival, where the kids got to pick their own pumpkins, we all went on a hayride, they enjoyed bounce houses and other fun activities for fall.  We went to the Farmingdale Fire Department’s Columbus Day festival, where the kids enjoyed rides and games.  Back at home, we visited the Cemetery of Lost Souls, the home of one of my daughter’s schoolmates here in the Park.  They put together an amazing display for Halloween, including live actors dressed up as monsters and psychos, and they donate all the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. My kids loved it, although the two youngest weren’t too keen with the actors.  They were happier sitting in the car watching from behind the glass!

This past weekend we headed back up north.  Saturday was our best friends’ Halloween party with the kids.  All four of my Ninja children had a great time, and after the party Paul and I enjoyed connecting with our friends.  We all enjoyed our visit.  Sunday we had a delicious Sunday dinner with my family in the Bronx.
